May 15th is National Chocolate Chip Day!
Did you know chocolate chips were created at the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts when Ruth Graves Wakefield ran out of bakers chocolate and instead used some chopped up semi-sweet chocolate. Ruth’s chocolate chip cookies were an instant hit in the 1930’s and now they are the classic go to for a sweet treat.
If you do not have a loved family recipe than celebrate by making or baking some of the delicious recipes below. You can go traditional with cookies or take a step on the wild side and try something new like scones, muffins, or cake.
